After 30 years of working in the Community Development field as a municipal planning employee, contract planning staff, a consultant, and a real estate developer, I have had the opportunity to engage in a truly diverse range of urban planning and community development projects and positions. These have included Director and Interim Director roles in Northern, Central, and most recently Southern California. I have also served as the inaugural contract staff for two newIy incorporated cities, and I have consulted on numerous municipal projects ranging from master planning the redevelopment of closed military bases to adoption and implementation of 6th Cycle Housing Elements. I have even had the opportunity to serve as the Planning and Development Director for a rural municipality in northern Alberta, Canada, and the Lead Master Planner for US Forces-Afghanistan during the troop surge in the early 2010s master planning forward operating bases throughout Afghanistan. Definitely, my career path has been broad, all-encompassing, and has definitely provided me with a pronounced flexibility and adaptability.
